In 2017, I first had an idea for a label aimed at filling the gaps in my wardrobe. It increasingly seemed as if I could never find a key item of clothing that ticked all the boxes - great design, quality fabric, a reasonable price, let alone it being made in Great Britain. If I ticked one or even two boxes - I could never tick them all. It was then that I started thinking about setting up my own label, though unfortunately a few things got in the way between then and now ….small children, finances, moving house, oh and a certain global pandemic. The crunch point came when vainly searching for the perfect pair of pyjamas, it suddenly came down to if not now, then when? This gave me the impetus to produce the first “Edit” and collection, resulting in Shields Edit being conceived. The first part of the name is a little predictable as it’s my surname(!) and the Edit is because I will only produce a small edited collection of products. My aesthetic has always been one which leans towards a classic, timeless design with a modern twist, which I really hope you enjoy, as much as I have producing it...

All the cotton we use is produced ethically and sustainably from the Aegean Coast. We only use ring-spun cotton, which has a much softer, luxurious feel and is incredibly durable.
